Why Tyndale – Pastoral Care

Tyndale is committed to providing a nurturing educational environment for all students.

We firmly believe that every child is wonderfully made by God and is precious to him. This heartbeat inspires us to ensure that each student’s individual needs are catered for:

• spiritually
• emotionally
• physically
• academically.

All students in the Junior School are placed in year level pastoral care groups.  Secondary students are arranged into House groups with cross-year level involvement.  Both Pastoral Care groups are held daily. This results in every student having Pastoral oversight as well as teacher specific care.

AT THE BEGINNING

The beginning years of schooling involve greater direction from our staff, as students grasp the foundations of learning and school life. They transition from more dependent learners, growing and exhibiting increasing capacity in self-discipline and student voice, into self-directed and critical learners and thinkers.

OUR MODEL

We employ a relational and restorative model when working with students. Our teachers are committed to building meaningful, professional relationships where there is mutual trust.

CONNECTING

We provide several opportunities during each school day for students to connect with their teachers in a pastoral sense, where their fears and concerns can be supported and their joys and successes celebrated.

FLOURISHING

We believe in each of our students and are thrilled to see them flourish as young men and women.
